Essential advice for the reopening of facilities

31 March 2021

FMs and service providers can click on the link below to view expert advice from the PFM panel of yesterday's live webinar discussing the future of the workplace as facilities prepare to reopen.

Sponsored by Ascentae, the panel of three included the company's managing director Jon Knight, whose long experience saw him contribute a number of valuable comments to the event.

He was joined by the winners of the PFM Partnership Awards Partners in Energy Management category, namely the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and CBRE GWS.

RFU head of venue facilities David Hewins joined the event from the balcony of one of the Twickenham corporate entertainment boxes, providing a view of the famous rugby pitch.

The third member of the panel was CBRE GWS business unit director Edward Buttery, who contributed further expert commentary to the debate.

Among the various, wide-ranging topics of discussion were thoughts from all panel members advising on the most important aspects to consider when reopening facilities.

Topics from establishing data-driven models to monitor all aspects of facility reopening, from cleaning schedules to air quality, were discussed, along with the need to manage any areas of attrition that emerge in the future.

An important overall message was the need for consideration and reassurance for all those returning to the workplace, some of whom may have worked remotely for the past 12 months.

The event also included discussion on how the likely emergence of hybrid work practices will see meetings attended by both those in the office and colleagues working remotely, leading to advice on how to ensure that everyone felt able to engage and contribute in equal measure.
