PFM Partnership Awards 2020 trophies to be presented in virtual event

12 January 2021

Following the latest lockdown restrictions around the UK, it has been decided that it will not be possible to stage a live event to present the winners of the PFM Partnership Awards 2020 with their trophies.

The decision follows rising numbers of Covid-19 infections and deaths around the UK, with predictions indicating that restrictions will continue to be required.

Members of the PFM Partnership Awards team have made considerable efforts to allow the winners to collect their trophies in front of industry peers, with the original event due to be held last November at London’s The Brewery venue.

When the severity of the pandemic became apparent last summer, the team negotiated a revised date of 17 March 2021 with The Brewery and also ensured that presenter Martin Bayfield would be available for the new date.

Prior to the Christmas break, the PFM Awards team continued to discuss the option of staging a live event that would comply with the necessary requirements such as social distancing and a variety of additional measures, to ensure the safety of attendees.

However, recent government announcements, rising infection and death numbers and continuing restrictions have resulted in the decision to present the trophies via an online event on 17 March.

With the rollout of vaccines continuing to gather pace and a more positive outlook emerging for the year ahead, the PFM Partnership Awards 2021 are being planned according to the normal schedule.

As a result, the 2021 Partnership categories will be launched before the end of January and the deadline for entries will once again be the middle of May.

Although personal visits by the judges are unlikely to return this year, the independent judging teams will begin to contact this year’s finalists toward the end of June, with all judging online video calls – which were introduced for the 2020 awards – due to be completed by the end of September.

This will allow the presentation of trophies to the 2021 winners to take place on 3 November at The Brewery, with further announcements confirming all aspects of the PFM Partnership Awards included in all areas of the PFM brand in the months to come.

All those who have booked tables for the 17 March presentation of the 2020 trophies will be contacted by the PFM sales team in the near future.
