HV Services acquisition announced by Freedom

NG Bailey Group member Freedom has announced it has acquired the HV Services division of the Fundamentals group of companies for an undisclosed sum.

Announced earlier today, the company has said the purchase will allow it to further extend its activities in the electricity distribution network sector.

Freedom anticipates increasing its activities in the high voltage maintenance renewable energy areas.

HV Services' personnel have extensive experience in the areas of electricity generation, transmission and distribution, with more than 40 years' experience of mission critical assets across the entire voltage range.

The company's clients include DNOs and private network customers located around the UK.

Twelve "highly skilled employees" are set to join the Freedom business, according to the official press release, with no details included on staff redundancies due to the acquisition.

The deal will additionally allow Fundamentals to concentrate on its core business of grid voltage control and its technology portfolio, according to today's announcement.

NG Bailey Services managing director Peter Jones described the deal as a "natural extensive to the range of services we already offer - particularly in network services and HV maintenance".

Fundamentals managing director Jon Hiscock said the move is part of the group's strategy "to become an international technology businesses", while also securing "a good future" for HV Services.
