Sontay brings the power to a new generation of sensors

22 November 2019

Sontay, the market leading manufacturer of field control devices, has launched a new generation of devices for Air Quality, CO2, CO, Relative Humidity and Temperature sensing and measurement.

Built on the company’s proven technology, this innovative range is the most advanced, accurate and easiest to install sensor platform available on the building controls market.

“Our sensors have an unrivalled reputation for reliability and high quality and now we have taken them a step further, adding greater functionality and benefits for integrators,” comments Sandy Damm, Managing Director at Sontay.

“We have evolved our well-established sensor technology platform with significant improvements in response to customer feedback. The result is new sensor technology that delivers the quickest installation and best performance for our customers and their clients.”

The new Multi-Sensor has been enhanced to ensure fast and simple installation. Large pluggable terminal blocks with push-in spring connection allow for tool-less installation and also provide LED indication to confirm the device is powered up correctly with output mode assigned.

Sontay has improved the PCB layout to make it more intuitive while the test button will override the outputs to allow simple identification of the output connection.

Installers can switch quickly to select between 3 wire or 2 wire, looped power connection and additional auto detection of the controller signal between 4-20mA or 0-10Vdc is also provided.

A full testing algorithm has been incorporated into the manufacturing programming sequence to give reliable and accurate measurement.

Sontay has also invested in new manufacturing equipment and processes at its Edenbridge facility to allow for faster turnaround on orders.

“Extensively trialled and BETA tested in the market with excellent feedback and results, this new Multi-Sensor meets and exceeds its customers’ expectations, continues Sandy.

“Testers have commented positively on the new LED indication of power and output mode along with the test button feature. The new pluggable terminal block is a major improvement that will support faster and simpler installation in the field. We are confident all our customers will value these benefits.”

Sontay produces the most comprehensive control peripherals offering to the UK building services market. All Sontay products are renowned for their accuracy, reliability and discrete appearance and are used by many of the market leaders in the worldwide building controls industry.

Their products and control solutions help improve building management system performance, reduce energy and maintenance costs and increase occupant comfort levels.
