Interserve's 'guardian angels' recognised at the 2015 RoSPA Awards

29 July 2015

Interserve, the international support services and construction group, has scooped over 20 awards in this year’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Awards, taking the company’s total RoSPA honours over the last decade to more than 220

Interserve’s support services business won a range of honours, including seven Guardian Angel Awards (established in 2014 to recognise and celebrate the work of individuals who have gone ‘above and beyond’ to improve the safety of others), a President’s Award (presented for receiving 11 consecutive Gold awards), three Gold Medals (for receiving up to nine consecutive Gold awards), seven Gold awards and one Silver award.

Interserve’s construction business was awarded RoSPA’s prestigious Order of Distinction, which is presented to companies that have received 15 or more consecutive Gold Awards for their health and safety performance. Interserve’s engineering services business was also recognised with a President’s Award for the 14th consecutive year of achieving a Gold Award.

These awards are the highest accolade that a company can achieve in recognition of its approach to health and safety, and were presented earlier this month at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.

Adrian Ringrose, Interserve’s Chief Executive said: “We are extremely proud that our continued commitment and dedication to health and safety, and providing safe environments for our colleagues, customers and visitors has been recognised at the RoSPA Awards. This year we are especially proud of the seven employees who have won Guardian Angel Awards, rewarding those who go above and beyond the call of duty.”

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Interserve contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.”
