Transforming energy performance assessments: Elmhurst Energy launches its GO Capture App

05 May 2015

Energy performance rating organisation, Elmhurst Energy, says it's made energy performance assessment easier and more convenient for Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) thanks to the launch of its GO Capture App

The application was designed to be used on its own, but it can be used in conjunction with Elmhurst’s suite of energy performance assessment software, including RdSAP GO software and Evidence Online Storage, GO Capture offers the flexibility assessors need in their busy profession, removing much of the paper-based administration required when compiling an assessment for an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

GO Capture automatically catalogues photographic images, floor plans and notes as the energy assessor captures them during an assessment. Each evidence item is automatically stamped with the correct time, date and GPS properties allowing the quick and easy creation of evidence reports. Labels and annotations for this evidence can be done with the click of a button and the App provides helpful prompts to ensure all data is collected on site. All of which transfers seamlessly into the members own secure evidence online repository.

Being flexible users can choose the right device for the job, for example using their mobile phone to take photographs in tight or dusty locations where otherwise bulkier tablets might be too valuable or big to go. And because of Elmhurst Energy’s significant investment in the products, assessors can use a combination of an iPad tablet and an Android mobile, it doesn’t matter – GO Capture provides total flexibility.

“GO Capture is designed to help domestic energy assessors save time when managing their EPC evidence,” explains Martyn Reed, Elmhurst Energy’s Operation Director. “It is designed with simplicity in mind and fits in with the way you want to work. It dramatically reduces the time spent cataloguing and collating evidence at the end of each day.”

GO Capture is free to members of Elmhurst Energy and when used in conjunction with RdSAP GO, enables DEAs to carry out energy calculations on existing domestic dwellings and produce energy performance certificates (EPCs) whilst on site.
