Norse expands Norwich Research Park Facilities Management contract

05 November 2014

Norse Commercial Services has retained its Facilities Management (FM) contract and taken on new work with Norwich Research Park, in a three-year deal

In addition to the retained contract, the company has also won a new three year agreement to provide cleaning, security and building maintenance services at the recently opened Centrum building.  Centrum is the new hub building at the heart of Norwich Research Park offering office and laboratory accommodation and meeting and event space.
Centrum is host to a variety of complex energy saving building services including ground source heat pumps, rain water harvesting and ‘mixed mode’ ventilation whereby the building is naturally ventilated in certain conditions.
Norse services include reception/front desk, cleaning, security, building maintenance and portering services.
“We are delighted to continue our excellent working relationship with one of the region’s most prestigious and innovative research parks,” commented Norse’s Commercial Director Nick Maddox. “The total facilities management side of our business is continuing to see significant growth across both the private and public sectors, with an additional £12 million of new business in the last six months.”

Jonathan Barnard, Development and Leasing Manager for Norwich Research Park said: “We are very pleased to retain Norse as our facilities management provider for our commercial buildings on the Research Park and look forward to working with them over the next three years.”

Buildings covered under the contract are, Centrum and the Innovation Centre, including the space occupied by the NNUH Microbiology department, and West Sites A and B.

Norse first took over the FM contract for Norwich Research Park in May 2012 under an initial two year agreement, and retained the business following a competitive re-tender process.

The contract has created five new jobs on the Park.
