Reflex team up with design partners to create FIT furniture

25 March 2014

Audio visual integrator Reflex has joined forces with furniture designers Davison Highley on a project they are calling FIT – Furniture Integrated with Technology

The first product to be made available is the Skylon FIT – a ‘work pod’ designed to create a more productive and engaging work environment.

Skylon FIT takes a modern seating booth and integrates into it a 32” Samsung LCD screen.  With wireless connectivity, users can simply fire up their laptops and instantly share their content with the others seated in the pod. The combination of seating style and technology helps the group work together as a team. Users can even book the resource for future meetings direct from their seats thanks to a built in Evoko room booking system.

Commenting on the initiative, Roland Dreesden, Reflex’s MD says “Taking cutting edge AV technology and cleverly integrating it into today’s modern office furniture gives a result that fuses beauty, practicality and functionality. We’ve been building monitors and touch screens into furniture such as lectern cabinets for some while.  But these developments take things a step further by embracing the trend for collaborative working styles.”

The Skylon FIT will be on show during April at Reflex’s London demonstration suite and then at Davison Highley’s show room during Clerkenwell Design Week in May. Reflex will be running seminars at the event, featuring animated video to demonstrate how AV and furniture design go hand in hand to create engaging workspaces. Visitors will also get the chance see a Christie MicroTiles skyscraper and to visit the Steljes ‘Technology on the Move’ bus, a specialist vehicle fitted out with the very latest AV and interactive technologies.

The Clerkenwell Design Week is open to all between 20 and 22 May. To see the Skylon FIT and to attend the free Reflex seminar contact kristys@reflex.co.uk with your preferred time.
