COFELY-PEEL MEDIA PARTNERSHIP WINS TOP FM AWARDS

The partnership between Cofely and Peel Media Group, the team behind MediaCityUK, won the Partners in Expert Services and the Overall Award at the PFM Awards 2013 at The Brewery in London

The judges said this long-standing collaborative working relationship exhibits a high level of mutual confidence, openness and trust with significant achievements in what is a multi-activity challenging location.

Peel Media Group invested £650 million in developing MediaCityUK, a bespoke 36-acre environment, designed around the creative and digital industries. Working in partnership with Peel Media Facilities, Cofely’s team of 26 is dedicated to the delivery and management of technical FM (PPM and reactive maintenance requests).

It also looks after the lifecycle management of building fabric and building services plant and the operation and maintenance of the low carbon, combined heating and power, tri-generation energy centre.

The PFM Award 2013 is the second award for this partnership. In October Cofely and the Peel Media Group were named national winners in the ‘Sustainability and Environmental Impact’ category at the BIFM (British Institute of Facilities Management) Awards.

Among other Awards winners were Lionel Prodgers, who waked away with the prestigious Peter Middup Lifetime Achievement in FM Award this year. Prodgers was a founder of one of the first FM companies and a key player in the development of the FM profession. He’s been chairman of BIFM and EuroFM at challenging times for both organisations, and he was a board member of the International Facilities Management Association.

More than 460 people from the FM sector attended the PFM Awards presentation dinner which was hosted by Olympic silver medallist, Roger Black. Now in its 20th year, the PFM Awards are recognised as the premier accolade for best practice at working in partnership to deliver facilities and support services across a broad spectrum of organisations in the private and public sectors.
