Cooper Lighting & Safety launches LED emergency luminaire

11 July 2013

Cooper Lighting and Safety, a business unit of diversified power management company Eaton, has announced the introduction of its next generation light-emitting diode (LED) emergency luminaire, the Zetalite 3

Suitable for a range of applications, including escape route lighting; open area, anti-panic emergency lighting; and external over door lighting, it serves as an affordable solution for safe emergency egress lighting.

“Building on the success of the previous Zetalite product range, we are pleased to offer our clients the next generation of affordable and reliable emergency lighting,” said James Beresford, product marketing manager, Emergency Lighting, Eaton’s Cooper Lighting and Safety business. “As legislation surrounding emergency luminaires becomes more stringent, we are always looking to update the products we offer to ensure that our customers are fully compliant at all times.”

The new Zetalite 3 serves as the first bulkhead luminaire designed to provide optimal performance through the utilization of an LED light source. Its low-energy consumption in maintained and non-maintained modes offers a significantly reduced cost of ownership over the product’s lifetime.

The Zetalite 3 is sealed to Ingress Protection’s (IP) 65 ideal for dusty, damp or wet conditions, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage. It also offers users a long life of nearly 50,000 hours (L80), maintenance costs amongst the lowest in its class and a three year warranty.

Additional features include a flame retardant luminaire body and lens, making the Zetalite 3 ideal for mounting on surface ceilings or walls. The latest addition to the company’s extensive range of emergency luminaires runs off a nickel cadmium battery system and is comprised of 12 0.25-Watt white LEDs.
