VINCI Facilities achieves gold standard for safety

VINCI Facilities received a Gold award for the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2013. This is VINCI Facilities fourth Gold award.

Dating back 57 years, the RoSPA Awards Scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK.

It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. The scheme not only looks at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Health, safety, compliance and educating everyone associated with its services and operations are central to VINCI Facilities’ work. This was demonstrated recently by a week-long series of activities at Ocker Hill Infant and Nursery School during a safety week, hosted by the VINCI Facilities team. As part of the Site Safety Day, two members of VINCI carried out sessions with all of the classes and the highlight of the day was meeting Ivor Goodsite, mascot for the Considerate Constructors scheme.

Head teacher, Heidi Faulkner said: “We are full of praise for VINCI Facilities who have been involved not only in our safety week but have helped us out on countless improvements in and around the school.”

VINCI has close ties to the school because of its proximity to its Sandwell offices in Birmingham, but the commitment of the team and their willingness to go further is typical of the VINCI way of doing things.
