Locale reaches new heights with LBQ The Shard

Locale was appointed in August 2010 to scope and deliver a complex, multitiered portal to aid the estate services team at London Bridge Quarter, The Shard and The Place in their management of both buildings

Locale’s system took into consideration the numerous different occupiers, managers, service providers and contractors, and delivered a ground-breaking service that will assist in the sophisticated estate management processrequired at both destinations.

London Bridge Quarter is a £2bn development which will see The Shard and its sister development The Place link seamlessly with London Bridge Station through a new central plaza, public realm, bus station and train station concourse. The project forms a major part of the Sellar Property Group’s vision to attract business and investment to London’s historic Southbank, bringing the economic and cultural focus of the City of London south of the river.

The Shard is the latest landmark addition to London’s skyline and the tallest building in Western Europe, standing 309.6metres high on the capital’s South Bank. The Shard is a vertical city containing 600,000 sqft of offices, a 5-star Shangri-La Hotel, international restaurants Aqua and Oblix across floors 31-33, the capital’s latest tourist attraction and highest viewing galleries - The View from The Shard - and an exclusive collection of residences - the highest homes in Europe. At 17 floors, The Shard’s sister building The Place offers an impressive 428,664 sqft of office space and a roof terrace on level 14, with stunning views across London.
