Boutique caterer, bartlett mitchell, has achieved a place on the Best Companies to Work For list 2013.

Marked as one to watch last year, it now has a star rating at position 74 in The Top 100 Mid-Companies in The Sunday Times’ inspirational list.

Ingrid Newbould, HR Director for bartlett mitchell explained, “Our entry this year has really been focussed on developing teamwork, our flexible working programmes and the interesting benefits packages that we offer our team members. It struck a chord with both the assessors and our employees and we’re delighted to have increased our position as a result. However, the Best Companies scheme is about so much more than recognition – it also helps us to see what issues we need to work more on.

“We plan to enter again next year and as well as continuing to do more of the same great activities that have helped us achieve this recognition, we’re also going to get increasingly creative in training and developing our team. A Best Companies listing is quite a motivator to achieve even more every year.”

One example of this innovation is the recent investment in a new chef development team of four, led by Executive Chef, Pete Redman. Newbould continued, “In economically challenging times like today, it’s essential that our chef teams are trained to be the very best in the marketplace and are given support in developing innovative, delicious and good value menus for our customers.”

Ian Mitchell, Chairman, added, “It’s fantastic news to achieve this result because we’re still following the same employee-focussed principles we adopted when we set up the company 13 years ago.
