Glazing over the cold snap with polyester

13 March 2013

As the UK shivers through the latest cold snap the importance of adequate home insulation is once again rearing its head with more and more households recognising the economic and environmental merits of secondary glazing

Considerably cheaper than double glazing - secondary glazing systems for example can cost from 15 to 50% - this cost effective alternative is finding a ready market among homeowners in what are testing economic times according to Ecoease, one of the major UK suppliers.

Ecoease Director John Feely explained: "Secondary glazing can be one of the easiest and cheapest ways of reducing your quarterly fuel bills, making your home more energy efficient and significantly reducing issues such as noise pollution and condensation.

"Like many glazing firms we are seeing customers complaining about ever rising fuel bills and they are keen to do something practical and affordable to tackle this.

"Our system is unique in many ways. Not only is it one of the cheapest available but we are the only firm to supply polyester, or PET, glazing panels that are significantly more fre resistant than other plastic solutions.

"Used for applications such as drink bottles and airline windows, PET is a lot stronger than other alternatives and as energy efficient as any double glazing system. Another advantage is that anyone can fit Ecoease secondary glazing in minutes using magnetic strips around the inside of the window frame.

"It's also one of the only systems that fit the needs of people living in Listed properties where double glazing is not an option due to restrictions.

"No building work is required unlike double glazing and it can be taken down in seconds during warm weather. It really is the most logical way of keeping the cold out!" added John.

Cathy McCormack from Avon is a recent convert to Ecoease. She fitted a number of Ecoease glazing panels over her large, north facing windows in her bedroom and sitting room and is delighted with the result.

"I couldn't find anyone other than Ecoease in an internet search that delivered such a simple solution.

"I started noticing the benefits straight away with reduced condensation, far less noise from the main road outside and the rooms just feel so much warmer. I'm not having to turn the thermostat up anywhere near as much and I'm looking forward to comparing my next energy bill with the last few!"

"Ecoease also offered outstanding customer service which went way beyond the call of duty!" added Cathy.

Ecoease offers a Measured to Fit (M2F) system that can be ordered at www.ecoease.co.uk and on partner retail sites such as www.uswitch.com and www.nigelsecostore.com that reduces the workload to an absolute minimum.
