MITIE expands in Ireland with new catering specialist

25 January 2013

MITIE, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company, has appointed a new catering expert in Ireland to expand its specialist capability for its clients

Denise Arthur has joined MITIE’s Irish team to ensure its clients enjoy the same level of expertise and local catering resource that has proved so successful for MITIE’s existing food clients.

Operating across the UK, MITIE’s catering business focuses on providing an agile, flexible and contemporary service either as a standalone caterer or as part of an integrated facilities management model through the wider MITIE Group’s activity.

Having enjoyed successful growth of some 45% in 2011/12, the company has continued its outstanding performance during 2012/13 and also consolidated its skills with the recent acquisition of Creativevents to expand its capabilities.

MITIE has been operating in Ireland since 2010, growing from 60 to over 1,200 people today. The catering business has been the most recent addition to MITIE’s services in the region.

Denise has a wealth of experience in the catering industry having operated commercial, concession and business and industry contracts both in the UK and USA.

Prior to joining MITIE’s catering business, Denise was responsible for leading a team in the design, development, staffing and mobilisation of the Main Media Centre at the Olympic Park. This included providing a 24 hour operation with private dining and all-access meals for over 28,000 people per day during the 2012 Games.

Allister Richards, managing director of MITIE’s catering business said: “It is fantastic to have Denise as part of the team. With the substantial growth over the last financial year, it was logical to introduce a strong and experienced operator to support Ireland.

“Denise brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the local Irish market and will play a major part in ensuring a promising year ahead.”

Denise said: “I’m really excited about being part of a team that is so focused on creating great experiences for its customers.”
