Planon launches mobile apps to support growing BYOD trend

Planon, which deals with real estate and facilities management software, has unveiled a new range of mobile applications that take full advantage of smartphone capabilities such as QR code scanning, RFID tag identification, high resolution imagery and location-based services

With the explosion of bring-your-own-device (BYOD), an estimated 65% of employees now use personal smartphone devices in the workplace. As a result, the borders between business and personal are continuing to blur, which means that businesses now need to provide their employees with tools that can help to improve the efficiency of their day-to-day work routine, whilst also making sure that the organisation is utilising its resources effectively.

Planon’s new apps enable employees to carry out a variety of workplace tasks that would have been unthinkable even five years ago, such as booking a meeting room on the move, checking-in at a workplace, finding a colleague remotely, submitting a maintenance request (including attaching a photo) and registering visitors to a building.
