WORKPLACE SUPPLIER BREAKS THE MOULD WITH NEW CATALOGUE
23 January 2013
WORKPLACE equipment supplier Slingsby has launched a new version of its famous catalogue and made a number of innovative changes to the latest edition which has now been used by businesses for 120 years.
Slingsby has held or reduced prices on more than 40 per cent of products and increased the number of items available with free next day delivery across all categories which include handling and lifting, storage and shelving, safety and security, signs and labels, environmental and waste, office, premises and access solutions.
Lee Wright, Marketing Director at Slingsby, says: “This year marks Slingsby’s 120th anniversary and ever since our first catalogue was produced in 1893 each edition has evolved in line with our extensive product range, which now includes more than 35,000 different products that appeal to all industries, businesses and organisations. Even though technology has advanced greatly, which means a large proportion of sales are now online, our catalogue remains a key marketing tool that’s hugely popular with customers so we continue to invest heavily in it.
“In recent years our catalogues have followed similar themes but we have made some significant changes to this latest edition. These include reducing its size by approximately 15 per cent while maintaining the number of products it showcases, which saves paper in line with our ongoing environmental commitments and makes it a more convenient size.
“We’ve also continued to develop our wide range of successful sales initiatives which means all our products include free delivery, a minimum 12 month warranty and a no-quibble 14 day money back guarantee. In addition we offer instant credit to new customers with an established credit history and have no minimum order value which all helps to reinforce our position as the UK’s leading workplace equipment supplier.”
