Workplace supports Children in Need

20 November 2012

This year’s Workplace Week, the annual celebration of workplace innovation in aid of Children in Need, was a great success.

Over 150 people took part in Workplace Week activities which included visits to innovative workplaces and a one-day Convention hosted at Microsoft’s London headquarters.

All the funds raised during Workplace Week go to the BBC’s Children In Need charity. This year the event raised over £8,000.

Workplace Week, now in its 3rd year, was conceived and is managed by Advanced Workplace Associates. AWA’s MD Andrew Mawson said: “Once again organisations have generously opened the doors on some fascinating workplaces, allowing people to see at first-hand the creativity and innovation of today’s offices. The Workplace Week Convention had a great line-up of presenters, ensuring lively discussion.

“That we raised over £8,000during tough economic times is a tribute to the goodwill of those in the facilities management and workplace sectors. I’d like to thank all those that hosted visits, spoke at the convention and everyone that took part.”

This year’s workplace visits included PWC, Mintel, the BBC, Innocent Drinks, the Guardian and KPMG in London; O2 in Slough; ASDA in Leeds and the BBC in Salford and Glasgow.

Speakers at the Workplace Week Convention included Mark Wood, Chairman of JLT and previously CEO of AXA UK and Prudential UK; Bruce Mann, Cabinet Office; Mary-Anne King, Microsoft; Artin Hovsepian, HSBC; Alan Bainbridge, BBC; Tim Yendell, RBS; plus Andrew Mawson and Karen Plum, AWA.
