ISS joins LUPC framework

08 November 2012

ISS Facility Services has been accepted onto the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) Framework Agreement for two separate lots; security and cleaning.

ISS Facility Services has been awarded cleaning contracts through LUPC previously, with a number of high status educational facilities having extended their contracts with them since original award. However, this is the first time that ISS will have the opportunity to win security contracts in this way.

ISS will be competing against two other companies also accepted onto the Framework and will tender for business through a series of individual mini-competitions.

The assessment process is stringent and from a security perspective has a heavy focus on meeting all legislation for the industry. In addition to this, there is a requirement for candidates to ensure the safety of all staff, students and visitors, protect Member Institution assets and provide access control to buildings and areas within the premises.

The LUPC is a not-for-profit organisation owned by its members, and its primary aim is to provide best value through the careful and collaborative procurement of goods and services.
With a membership base comprised predominantly of educational facilities, bodies such as the British Library, British Film Institute, and a number of Museums are also part of the LUPC.

Richard Sykes, CEO, ISS comments: “I am thrilled that ISS has been shortlisted for this agreement. In our experience, the LUPC Framework is a great initiative to be part of and we look forward to learning the results.”
