Freedom for preferential parking

08 October 2012

With cafes and supermarkets a stone’s throw from Freedom Centre International in Welling, it is no wonder that the parish struggles to find parking.

Members of the Christian Centre, located on a busy high street, often arrived for church services to find parking was unavailable and wanted an effective solution to deal with offending vehicles.

Creative Parking installed an ANPR system which enables free parking for churchgoers when attending services. However in collaboration with “Phone and Pay” the car park also generates revenue for the centre by allowing other motorists to park on-site and pay via phone at quieter periods.

A spokesperson for Creative Parking said: “We have worked with the centre to provide the best parking facilities for its parish as its main concern was ensuring that there would be sufficient parking available for its members when they needed it. As a result churchgoers are now able to park on-site with minimal hassle and attend the services taking place whereas the general public can use the centre’s parking facilities at less congested times.”
