Advanced Battery Care introduces the EC2000 electrochemical analyser for UPS Batteries
13 June 2012
Advanced Battery Care (ABC) offers the EC2000 Electrochemical Battery Analyser and has ceased using impedance testing during maintenance procedures in favour of this more effective method of assessing battery condition.
Impedance testing was introduced following the change from flooded cells to VRLA technology and was effective for detecting internal corrosion. Battery manufacturing technology has since improved and the remaining fault conditions are more complex rendering impedance testing less effective.
The hand held EC2000 electrochemical Analyser records battery voltage, impedance, sulfation and electrolyte dry out. The EC2000 also operates as a 600 volt meter, a basic oscilloscope and a clip on ammeter using Fluke accessories. The IBMS software used is sophisticated and user friendly.
