Compact envelopener with milling cutter technology

High-speed mailroom automation company, OPEX Corporation, has added the Model 2112 Envelopener to its OMATION line of products. The new machine is ideal for small to mid-sized mail opening requirements.

The Model 2112 incorporates the same key features as its predecessor, the legendary Model 2100, such as superior milling cutter technology and speeds of up to 400 envelopes per minute. The proven milling cutter minimises cut contents, provides a feathered edge for safe removal, and allows for quick extraction and processing whilst representing an excellent investment in enhanced efficiency and output.

New improvements on the Model 2112 include a self-adjusting feeder that allows for easy opening of a variety of mixed mail including flat and overnight envelopes up to 4.8mm thickness. An “operator adjustable” cut depth lever has been added to provide two cut-depth settings, one for normal and the other for thicker mail. A larger chip capacity tray has also been engineered to allow 3,500 envelopes to be opened before an indicator light signifies the need to empty the tray complemented by an easy to view counter display. The machine can remove as little as .25mm to 1.79mm chips from the envelope edge. The notable compact dimensions are length 1028mm – 1079mm x depth 419mm or with power cord 457mm x height 368mm and the weight is 21 kg.
