Broadbent hands over Chairmanship

Ian Broadbent has handed over the responsibilities of BIFM Chairman to Ismena Clout, Chairman Elect. The change to the newly elected Chairman comes earlier than the scheduled 12 July 2012 handover date.

Ian became Chairman in 2010 and has led the Institute over his two year tenure, also representing the Institute and the profession to industry and on the wider international stage. Starting his contribution to BIFM and the membership in the late 1990’s after successfully completing the BIFM Qualification he went on to serve on the North East and West Branches of the North Region and became Chair of the North Region in 2006, and joined the Board in 2009 as Deputy Chair.

In addition to his committee roles Ian has been involved in activities from being an examiner to helping to review the Institute’s approach to CPD. Ian also achieved the accolade of BIFM FM of the Year in the 2006 BIFM Awards; a recognition of his dedication and abilities in delivering excellent facilities management.
