Finalists for EuroFM Awards announced

Finalists for the  EuroFM Awards to be presented at the Gala Dinner of the EFMC2012  in Copenhagen in May, have been announced in two categories of Awards.

In the Partners Across Borders category which is open to FM providers and their clients working in partnership to deliver services to clients’ multiple sites across several European countries, the finalists are:
Johnson Controls with Agilent Technologies: Since 2004, Agilent and Johnson Controls have developed their partnership so that it now covers 16 European countries, 62 sites and one million square feet of property.
Interserve with The Foreign & Commonwealth Office:In a seven-year strategic partnership, Interserve is delivering FM services across the FCO’s UK estate and diplomatic missions in 12 European countries.
ISS with Citi: Citi selected ISS as its EMEA strategic partner in 2010 to develop an integrated FM solution across 27 countries to achieve consistency of service delivery and cost reduction.
In the FM Researcher of the Year category which recognises the value of academic research being undertaken across Europe in advancing knowledge in FM, the four finalists and their research papers are:
KaisaAiro, Aalto University, Finland: In Open Plan Office – from narratives to discourses – An Analysis of an Internet Discussion, KaisaAiroexamines the usefulness of on-line discussion forinvestigating users’experiences of their office environment.
ArtoHuuskonen, Aalto University, Finland: In Network Management Practice of Large Service Providers in the Residential FM Sector, HuuskonenArto investigates the inter-organisational network management practices of three large service providers in the Finnish residential FM sector.
Nora JohanneKlungseth, Norwegian University of Science and Technology: In Shadowing – A Valuable Approach to FM research, Nora Klungsethdiscovers how this method of research through observation can provide a deeper understanding of how FM can add value.
Hester Van Sprang, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands:In Workplace and Knowledge Workers Perceived Productivity in Dutch UAS examines the effect of the working environment on the productivity in knowledge development by academic staff in research departments of universities of applied science.
The winners of each category will be announced at the Gala Dinner of the 11th annual EFMC 2012Management Conference and 11thEuroFM Research symposium to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 23-25th May 2012. (www.efmc-conference.com)
