i-Clean figures show 49% variance in contractor performance

Further to the latest release of i-Clean efficiency review figures, it appears that there is a growing disparity between the best and the worst contract cleaned sites.

With the very best site running at 99% efficiency and the worst at 50%, the i-Clean figures show that the current drive to cut costs is having a significant impact on the spread of performance, as well as specifications. As expected, overall contractor performance is better in healthcare than it is in education and the commercial market, although the average improvement opportunity identified is still 16%. Of the last 10 contracted healthcare sites, improved standards has been more of a priority for the client than reduced costs.

With the more innovative providers in the market looking to implement innovative new solutions such as lean processes, others seem to be struggling with the pressure to reduce cleaning frequencies but still deliver an acceptable service. Managing client expectations remains a key concern for contractors, in addition to independent verification of best value.
