Dangerous Substance Control Ltd (DSC) has been launched to provide guidance and product planning in DSEAR risk assessment and solutions across all industries.

Headed by Roy Smith, formerly managing director of Denios, the management team at DSC claims expertiese in the evaluation, design, manufacture and supply of equipment required for the safe and legal storage of hazardous, flammable or sensitive substances.

The DSC team aims to clarify risk, implementing any required changes in safe and cost effective way that doesn’t negatively impact on the business. This is done in a neutral and unbiased manner across defined subjects and duty of care. This all embraces the role and requirments of core organisations such as the HSE, Environment Agency and IOSH. Specific themes covered include DSEAR – Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations given that the smallest unstable quantity can cause huge damage; spillage training prevents multiple problems of asphyxiation, gas release and ventilation caused by uncontrolled flows: the numerous Prevention of Pollution Guidelines (PPG) are carefully explained; and the Chemical Hazard symbols and abbreviations are clarified at a glance for fast recognition.
