Sodexo Prestige at Scotland’s top table

02 November 2011

Sodexo Prestige has been named the best employer among Scotland’s group contract caterers for the second year running. The company was given the accolade of Best Group Contract Caterer Employer at the prestigious Best Employers in Hospitality 2011 Scotland awards at Prestonfield House in Edinburgh.

Nicola McKay, human resource manager for Sodexo Prestige in Scotland, said: "Our employees are our most important asset. We care about our employees in the same way that we care about our clients, and we strive to provide each and every employee with a wide range of professional and personal opportunities to develop within Sodexo."

Sodexo Scotland serves a variety of corporate Scottish clients, including the Scottish Parliament, the University of Stirling, and Stirling Management Centre.

Prestige Scotland, the dedicated catering division of Sodexo Prestige, has a roster of prestigious clients such as Hampden Stadium, the National Galleries of Scotland, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, National Museums Scotland, and Blair and Glamis castles.

Four years ago, Prestige Scotland set up its own in-house team, Prestige People, to improve the training and development of staff.

Prestige Scotland provided catering at last year’s Open Championship at St Andrews, when 42 members of staff were put through a customer service excellence course which involved them learning about the tourism and leisure amenities in the town.

Prestige Scotland has picked up a string of awards in the past 12 months. At the Scottish Event Awards 2010, the company won the Best Corporate Event award for the Official Hospitality at The Open Championship, and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh – where Prestige Scotland provides catering - was named Best Unusual Venue.
