Growth in document destruction

Shred-it has opened an extended Shared Service Centre (SSC) at its UK headquarters in Sale, Greater Manchester.



The new SSC will eventually house fifty employees who will provide central administrative support to the firm’s network of 17 branches nationwide in the UK. Those employees will provide key internal support services to the business including; accountancy, credit control and customer services functions for Shred-it.

Robert Guice, Executive Vice President, Shred-it UK, said: “The expansion of our Shared Service Centre reflects both the continued surge in growth in our business and our commitment to delivering our services nationwide from Sale, Greater Manchester.”

Demand for confidential document and hard-drive destruction services has grown owing to organisations in the public and private sectors become ever more aware of the potential reputation damage that will follow the release of private information entering the public domain. “This awareness is fuelling demand for our services,” Guice said.
