World FM Day 2011

Global FM member organisations on six different continents celebrated World FM Day on Thursday 23 June 2011.

The event was aimed at raising the FM profession profile around the globe, promoting facilities management's ideals worldwide, not only within the profession and industry, but also among the governments and the general public.

The World FM Day celebrations this year has reached more than 25,000 individuals worldwide. Below is a taster of what Global FM Members did on 23 June this year:

ABRAFAC: Guided Tour of the Museum of Footbal - 100 participants
ARSEG: Conference and cocktail at Philips Headquarters in Paris - 60 participants
BIFM: Quiz and BBQ in London - 150 participants
MEFMA: Networking event: quiz and gala dinner - 270 participants
FMA Australia: Luncheons and conferences at different FMA branches - 250 participants
HFMS: Joint event with KÖVET Association for Sustainable Economies - 40 participants
IFMI: Evening event at Bangalore. Presentation followed by food and drinks - 25 participants
IFMA: 3rd edition of "TweetWorldFMDay", various events in different IFMA Chapters around the world. The Houston Chapter had a BBQ luncheon at ConocoPhillips - 65 people
SAFMA: Events at Kwazulu Natal and Johannesburg - 116
