G4S adds another hospital FM contract

06 May 2011

G4S FM has been awarded a major contract to provide FM support at Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust.

The six-year contract, which is valued at around £2m a year will see G4S provide catering for patients, staff and visitors, together with cleaning, ward hostess and portering services at the 200 bed hospital, which is operated by Liverpool Women’s.
The new deal follows the company’s recent contract win to deliver FM services at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.
G4S track record of delivering FM services in hospitals and strong commitment to partnership was a key factor in the Liverpool Women’s selection decision. The new agreement started on 29 April 2011 and run until April 2017, with the option of a three-year extension. Around 120 G4S personnel will work on the contract across the 30,000 m2 site.
Chris Elliott, Group Managing Director, G4S Integrated Services said: “This is the latest in a string of major healthcare contract wins for G4S FM. It reflects our strong record of collaborative working with NHS Trusts and ability to deliver important high-quality support services that allow clinical staff to focus on patient care.”
Linda Martin, Liverpool Women’s Facilities Manager said: “G4S' commitment to provide bespoke FM services that will 'best fit' Liverpool Women's was a key factor in awarding the contract. We are looking forward to working in partnership with them to continually improve the environment and services for our patients that will enhance their overall patient experience here at Liverpool Women's.”
