Training for low carbon economy workforce

24 March 2011

A Renewables Roadshow powered by Plumb Center has been launched to help develop the skills needed in the workforce to deliver a low-carbon economy.

As renewable technologies move into the mainstream over the next few years, the UK will witness a renewables revolution. The Plumb Center Renewables Roadshow will tour the UK this September, taking the very latest in technologies and training to trade professionals in six locations.
The Renewable Heat Incentive, recently published by DECC, explicitly states that thousands of installer jobs will be generated and that Government intervention will ensure that the renewable market will grow by 600 percent over the next 9 years.
Irrespective of the eventual growth, as the UK fundamentally changes the way in which we heat both the space and the water in our living spaces and workplaces, our marketplace is set for a seismic shift & a period of unprecedented growth.
The Renewables Roadshow schedule is:
Reebok Stadium, Bolton 6th September
Ricoh Arena, Coventry 8th September
The Centaur, Cheltenham 13th September
Wembley Stadium, London 15th September
International Centre, Harrogate 20th September
SECC Glasgow, 22nd September

Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with dozens of exhibiting manufacturers, merchants & professional bodies, in four theatre areas devoted to simplifying technologies & training.
