Problems hearing yourself think?

17 February 2011

Spinnakers historically have been installed to assist with shading, lighting and as design features to break up large empty spaces. Now using the Mermet Acoustis 50 fabric sound quality within the room can be significantly improved.

Glass walls, tiled floors, easy clean surfaces, think swimming pools, school canteens. Add in a few excited children and it is not just that the sound volume goes up but as it ‘bounces’ back off the different surfaces, all at different distances, it comes back at different times.
To significantly reduce this sound reverberation Mermet have engineered the Acoustis 50 to be particularly acoustically absorbent. Woven from glass fibre cored yarn it is dimensionally stable and fire rated to BS476 Pt 6 Class 0.

Good for tensile structures, it does not stretch after being tensioned, it is also excellent for large dimension free hanging which with its ability to take digital print makes it perfect for signage and artworks.

Cleaning easily and being non-absorbent of moisture it is ideal for swimming pool enclosures. Absorbent of sound it is also absorbent of visible light and makes a fine shading fabric for glare control
