Vaporiser keeps flu at bay for front-line staff and patients

17 February 2011

A revolutionary new vaporiser application, available only from SitexOrbis, is helping to fight flu by treating rooms and their contents quickly and efficiently. Organisations, including NHS - hospitals, ambulances and blood mobile units, wishing to protect staff, customers and visitors from illnesses such as flu, are opting for the treatment.

The company, which cleans some 20,000 properties annually, is being approached particularly by hospitals and schools. But the vaporisation treatment is not only being used for the vulnerable. Leading sports facilities, offices and accommodation are also being protected.
It works by vaporising DuoMax into the air, a safe disinfectant that has a 99.9999% success rate in eliminating bacteria, fungus and viruses. As well as flu, the sanitising fluid kills all known germs affecting health including salmonella, E coli, listeria, TB, legionella, MRSA, hepatitis B, HIV and norovirus.
Vaporisation enables all surfaces in a room, even walls and ceilings and nooks and crannies to be reached and cleansed. In just over an hour rooms are ready for use again. There is no requirement to clear rooms of furniture or other items.
One of the latest big jobs for SitexOrbis vaporisers was a full clinical deep clean of every room in the new 96 bedroom Aneurin Bevan Hospital in Wales. In the words of the facilities manager at the hospital, the treatment: ‘ensured that every square millimetre in every room was guaranteed to be completely disinfected’.
