Galliford Try wins £57m Orkney Schools project

Galliford Try's construction arm, Morrison Construction, has been selected as preferred bidder for the Orkney Islands Council’s £57m Schools Investment Programme, while its FM arm is to undertake FM for 10 years.

The project comprises a new Grammar School, Arts Theatre and halls of residence in Kirkwall, a new Primary School in Stromness, a new Swimming Pool and Squash Courts at the Pickaquoy Centre and three all weather pitches built over the next three years.
Under the scheme Galliford Try Facilities Management will provide a range of services for 10 years including building and grounds maintenance.
Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, said, “We’re delighted to build on our experience of major education schemes through this key role with the Orkney Islands Council. We look forward to working closely with all our partners and communities to develop high quality facilities which will modernise the provision of local services.”
