Land Registry outsources FM to Carillion

13 January 2011

Following a decision to fully outsource its FM services for the first time, Land Registry has selected Carillion to take over the delivery of its FM from April.

The contract – awarded and signed in December 2010 – commences in April 2011 for an initial five-year period. "Working in partnership with Carillion is an exciting prospect," commented Land Registry Head of Facilities Jan Lloyd. "Throughout the procurement process they have consistently demonstrated an understanding of the changes Land Registry is facing and I’m confident that they will bring a wealth of experience to managing facilities."
A member of the Buying Solutions Framework for facilities management, Carillion was invited to participate in a procurement process with Land Registry. Land Registry in-scope estate comprises approximately 37 premises in England and Wales totalling some 196,500 square metres, and including office space, data centres and file stores. Carillion will deliver a range of traditional hard and soft FM services at these locations, with additional services including space and move management, and business continuity management.
Carillion will act as a single point of responsibility for the management and delivery of this fully-integrated suite of services and will drive both continuous improvement and the development of innovative services solutions, as well as achieving a reduction in costs.
Richard Sykes, Managing Director of Carillion’s Facilities Management business, was delighted to formally sign the contract, commenting: "I am extremely proud that Land Registry has selected Carillion as its preferred partner. We strongly believe this is a reflection of our acknowledged ability to form a true partnership with our customers. We work hard to understand every aspect of a customer’s business in order to establish a high-quality service that is specifically tailored to suit their needs. Most crucially in the current climate, though, we do this at a level that still enables cost-saving targets to be achieved, and allows the customer to deliver its main business purpose unhindered."
