Opera House FM to MITIE

22 December 2010

MITIE has been awarded the integrated FM contract by the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden, home to The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet.

The Royal Opera House was impressed with MITIE’s integrated FM proposition which brings together soft facilities management service capabilities such as security and cleaning services with technical facilities management skills. Over 100 MITIE people will operate around the clock to deliver services which include engineering, cleaning, security, telephony, mail and reprographics. The contract is valued at £19m and is for a five-year period.
The Royal Opera House began a six month tender process with a view to developing a consolidated approach to their FM service delivery. MITIE was able to demonstrate to the Royal Opera House its ability to deliver the tendered services under one contract, combining exceptional service levels befitting the magnificent Royal Opera House along with significant operating and energy efficiencies.
Martin Holt, MD of MITIE’s Technical Facilities Management division said: “We were able to offer The Royal Opera House a fully integrated FM model, which, along with our commitment to quality, efficiency and innovation, has set us apart. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with such a prestigious partner and look forward to providing world-class services to the Royal Opera House.”
