Faceo delivers FM to BASF across Europe

09 December 2010

Chemical company, BASF, has signed a strategic agreement with Faceo FM to provide services to its sites in Western Europe

(l-r) Dr Matthias Fankhänel, Senior Vice President Technical Procurement, Serge Clemente, President Faceo Group and Dr. Walter Seufert, President Region Europe

Faceo’s European coverage and its expertise in FM will see BASF benefiting from a reduction in the number of suppliers and consistency of service provision across the region. The scope of this agreement includes building maintenance, cleaning, security, catering, reception, print and copy, archive, landscaping and fleet management. The contract deployment will be phased in the coming months across more than 60 BASF sites located in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Portugal, The Netherlands, Spain and United Kingdom.
Faceo, part of Vinci Facilities since May this year,  was chosen after a selection process initiated in 2009 that was led by BASF’s European management organisation, Corporate Real Estate and Facility Management as well as Technical Procurement Department.
Faceo's strategy is aimed at rationalising supply chain, optimising costs and improving modes of operation of its support functions. BASF expects that by reducing its  service providers to a single supplier, it will generate significant commercial as well as operational improvements whilst receive a  more consistent FM service.
Faceo’s Mainstream FM (its  multinational delivery model) is one of the key reasons this contract was awarded. By using this approach, Faceo will be able to fully integrate BASF’s local and regional specificities into a pan European solution.
This associated with the fully transparent ‘reference cost’ model and managed through Faceo’s Streambox, all designed and delivered by Faceo, will examine the full FM structure of its customers and provide clarity to engage in a significant reduction in FM costs, by the implementation of best governance and operating practices, and by pooling resources effectively.
Yannick Annezo, Faceo Senior Vice President of Development said, “Faceo is particularly proud to add a name as prestigious as BASF to its list of multinational clients. We are pleased to have been able to meet BASF’s expectations, which sought an FM partner capable of accompanying and serving them across 60 sites in Western Europe, with the same consistency of services, while meeting the requirements of a multinational group. This contract strengthens our platform of services to global enterprises (Faceo Mainstream FM Services).”
Thomas Glatte, Head of Real Estate and Facility Management for BASF-Group, commented “BASF is pleased to partner with Faceo in this endeavour and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship that will both reduce BASF’s structural complexity and improve the facility management service provided to our internal clients. We are ready to move forward together and continue the intense efforts necessary to successfully implement the program seamlessly throughout the region.”
