OPEX OMATION 206 - the high volume letter opener

02 December 2010

The design of the Opex Omation 206 sets a new standard of excellence! You can tell at a glance that this is no ordinary envelope opener. It represents the state of the art in accuracy, speed, flexibility, reliability and economy. Key features are enhanced mixed mail feeding and handling, with no sorting or jogging for all types of 1st class mail including large flats up to half an inch in thickness and 13 and a half inches in length.

In terms of capabilities and function, The Opex Model 206 can process up to 36000 items of mail per hour, accepting envelopes in practical options of length and thickness for accurate automated extraction with minimal operator assistance.

The overall major features and benefits include an easy-to-read six digit electronic counter display; support for oversized envelopes with transporting and stacking and also for the mail tray to enhance ergonomics and optimising workflow; automatic jam detection which provides convenient machine cleaning; small footprint for optimal space efficiency; and automatic chaff detection which collects mill chips for a clean work area.

By using Omation’s unique high speed milling technology, the Model 206 prevents sliced contents and produces a soft, feathered edge. This is a distinct advantage over slicing-blade and guillotine-type cutters that often damage contents and leave sharp edges which cause painful paper cuts.
