RICS targets FMs at TWM

16 September 2010

The RICS is launching a campaign at TWM to help FM professionals demonstrate their critical role in improving strategic business performance

RICS will be using this year’s Total Workplace Management (TWM) at Olympia next month to launch a new campaign which aims to identify how FM professionals can demonstrate their critical role in improving strategic business performance. RICS has around 12,000 UK professionals operating in FM and knows the role is critical in helping businesses realise their medium and long term corporate targets.
To launch the campaign, RICS will be hosting a Professionalising FM live panel debate at TWM, chaired by FMX magazine’s consulting editor, Andy Brown. The ‘Question Time’ style debate will see a group of influential FM professionals and RICS members contributing views on the issue. Confirmed panelists will include Nick O’Donnell, Head of Global Facilities and Real Estate at the Financial Times, FM expert Martin Pickard, Rory Murphy from VINCI FM and Mike Packham, who is a member of the RICS Facilities Management Professional Group Board. Each panelist will outline their own opinions on the subject before inviting questions and debate from the floor. The live panel session will take place between 12.30 and 1.15pm on Thursday, October 7th in the FM Academy.
The new campaign is also being supported with a new section on the RICS website which will provide members with information and updates: www.rics.org/professionalisingfm. Ahead of the TWM show, RICS is inviting FM professionals to contribute their own views via an online survey which can be accessed online at www.rics.org/fmsurvey.
Members of the RICS team will also be on hand at TWM stand D46, to explain how membership can help FM professionals raise industry standards and improve business performance.   RICS has around 12,000 UK professionals operating in FM.
