Whittle Group Help The Lord Taverners

19 August 2010

The Whittle Group Help The Lord Taverners Celebrate Their Diamond Jubilee Garden Party With Judith Chalmers. The Lord Taverners held their Diamond Jubilee Garden Party at Westminster Abbey on the 8th July and as part of the celebrations they raised £21,000 towards their aim of ‘giving young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance’.

The charity’s distinctive green minibuses are designed to give youngsters with either physical and/or learning disabilities the opportunity to see the world beyond the confines of the organisation which cares for them

None of this would have been possible if it was not for people giving up their time and companies like The Whittle Group in giving support.

When Bob Willett the Director of The Whittles Business Division was asked by the organizers to help he had no hesitation in agreeing. The Whittles group helped by supplying a team of men to assist with the moving, set up and break down of the event.

Amongst the numerous stars that attended the event was Judith Chalmers OBE who kindly agreed to have her photograph taken with The Whittles team from the Southern depot.

Both Bob Willett and Jonathan Caldwell - Whittle’s Southern area manager, also attended this memorable and successful evening and made a donation on behalf of the company towards the appeal.
