PFM Award winner features on Workplace TV

01 July 2010

Mike Cant, winner of the PFM Award for Lifetime Achievement in FM, explains on Workplace TV how FM service providers need to do things differently.

Following his success in the first PFM Award for Lifetime Achievement in FM last year, Mike Cant, Director of Larch Consulting,  puts his latest ideas on the development of FM into practice on the small screen.
As he explains to PFM editor Jane Fenwick on the latest Workplace TV film clip, the FM sector needs to do things differently in this economic climate.  He said, “We need to fundamentally change the way the clients see FM and mould the contractor response to that.”
He foretells a future in which the FM model needs to restrain costs beyond the savings made to date. He explained that his work on this topic had revealed that, potentially, a further 20-30 percent savings on the cost base of an FM contract can be achieved by attacking items that are currently rolled into other unnecessary costs to the client.
