Finance and Facilities Management Officer. £24,708 - £27,959 Based in London and reporting to the Head of Facilities Management, you will support the FM function across all branches at an operational level. On the whole work will be undertaken in London, however the post will have a remit for all IWM branches.

The Imperial War Museum embraces the history of modern war and people’s experience of war and wartime life in Britain and the Commonwealth. Our goal is to enrich people’s understanding of the causes, course and consequences of modern war. Our mission is to enable people to have an informed understanding of modern war and its impact on individuals and society.

The Facilities Management team has an important role to play in supporting these aims and we are now seeking an experienced Finance and Facilities Management Officer to assist in the effective running of the department.

This role is crucial to the smooth operation of the FM function at IWM, focussing on the effective monitoring and management of expenditure across several branches and functions, working with internal departments and multi-disciplinary service partners.

Together with your professional qualifications/experience in Finance Management you will need a high level of business acumen and proven ability to manage budgets and programme for multiple operations and sites. You will also demonstrate a track record of high achievement attributed to an energetic and resourceful approach.

In addition the successful candidate will ensure full coordination between the many operational elements of the FM department and the busy project management team, helping to ensure that proper financial controls and best value is delivered at all times.

In addition to a good standard of education, you will need to demonstrate experience of working within and contributing to, a multi faceted FM operation, in addition to a an understanding of the technical aspects of facilities management. You will be experienced in producing a variety of financial reports and developing operating and capital budgets and will be an excellent communicator at all levels.

You will be responsible for the successful management of department budgets (capital and operating) totalling over £7m.
