MITIE in crime clean-up

18 February 2010

MITIE has signed a three-year facilities management contract with Humberside Police Authority to provide a range of cleaning services to all of its sites across Humberside.

With more than 61 locations in total across the region, more than 150 people are transferring to MITIE to look after the portfolio. Among its normal cleaning duties, the team is trained to carry out cell cleaning using specialist equipment as well as working at crime scenes once the police forensic teams have finished their work.
David Johnson, Managing Director of MITIE’s cleaning and environmental business, said: “We are delighted to have been successful in this competitive tender and we are looking forward to working in partnership with Humberside Police Authority to improve the cleaning standards across its sites. This is a very prestigious contract for us and is a welcome addition to our other police authority work, increasing our market share in this important sector.”
