GO WITH THE FLOW

11 March 2010

Moving to new premises is often (or should be) the trigger for a complete assessment of working practices and technolgy, and in the case of the prestigious law firm Addleshaw Goddard LLP this has been implemented within the mail and print room to spectacular effect.

In conjunction with award winning London architects MCM who have specialist expertise in this area – and are noted for creating innovative and aspirational environments - the complete area has been carefully planned and equipped with the equally niche range of input and products from Envosort – and the overall result is a model of cost effective enhancement.

Given that most such areas are not in the mainstream of perception and are invariably fitted out in a random manner, Lee Oxley and his team at Addleshaw Gooddard have quickly proved to the senior management that proper committment pays dividends at every level. As Lee observes " With the experienced guidance of our business partners we have established a logical and scientific flow and internal layout which guarantees the quickest and safest movement of all manner of postal material, right from the loading bay to recording and tracking systems plus a holding area for items to be allocated and then in to the main checking and distribution area. The open sorting units allow for easy identity of postal pockets colour coded by department, and by the nature of the sensitive and important nature of our company we ensure rapid and accurate service to colleagues and clients. In turn, we now have an in-house printing facility within the same area which can deal with all manner of mono and full colour documents and ticks the boxes of significant time and cost savings. The staff are also much more motivated by the improved environment, especially the extra space and light and touches such as lockable personal cabinets. All in all it has been an outstandingly successful project".

For the record, the portfolio of equipment supplied by Envosort embraces mainline items such as cupboards, static and mobile shelved (faciltating extra storage) benches, Flexibuild sort units in varying dimensions, distribution trolleys and sackholders and a pallet truck – through to practical accessories including wheelie bins and roll containers. The furniture aspect are all constructed in durable, tasteful pale grey with rounded edges to prevent injuries.

All of which underwrites the status of Addleshaw Gooddard as a thoughtful, "holistic" company which is ranked in the top ten for FTSE clients and in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For.
