Europa acquires FM division of stricken Operon

04 February 2010

As Operon goes into administration, 553 employees in the FM division find a new home at Europa and continue to fulfill FM contracts.

Europa has strengthened its FM business following the acquisition of key contracts and assets of the FM division of Integrated Building Services Engineering Consultants Limited, trading as Operon which had been placed in administration. The acquisition has seen Europa meet all outstanding salary commitments for 553 employees who transferred to Europa as part of the deal which completed 29 January 2010.
The new team will operate as part of Europa and continue to offer FM  to its existing public sector clients from national and local government, higher education and health. Europa is now one of the largest independent UK FM companies with an annual turnover approaching £110m.
Greig Brown, Europa Chief Executive said “This deal is a natural fit for Europa, strengthening our services and market position even further.  We now look forward to working closer with Operon’s clients and providing a stimulating environment for employees.   This will help us going forward as we continue to share our combined knowledge and expertise as one business”.
