Share your FM knowledge in Madrid

IFMA and EuroFM, together with IFMA Spain, LASALLE and SEFM, organisers of EFMC 2010 to be held 1-2 June 2010 in Madrid, have opened the ‘Call for Papers’ for the business conference stream.

EFMC2010 – the  European Facility Management Conference 2010 - consists of two FM-professionals conference streams - The Business Conference and the 9th EuroFM Research Symposium. In addition there is a FM trade exhibition, a students poster gallery and the presentation of the European FM Awards.
More than 500 delegates from different European countries and abroad are expected to attend. The conference will take place at the Hotel Eurostars Madrid Tower, in the Spanish capital.
Interested parties are invited to submit abstracts of papers suitable for a presentation at the EFMC 2010 to share knowledge and expertise on  FM and to interact with FM-professionals
from all sectors and other countries.
Abstracts will be considered and approved by the Programme Advisory Group. The Programme Advisory Group consists of members of the EuroFM Network Groups, members of IFMA, members of the National Hosts and Corporates. Albert MM Pilger, CEO, Pilger Facility Management GmbH (Austria), will chair the PAG and coordinate the programme of the Business Conference.
EFMC 2010 will focus on presentations that represent best practice, lessons learned, business cases, Innovations in FM and future technologies in and for FM. It especially welcome clients and suppliers who present their business case together.  Topics of EFMC 2010 include Integration of Strategies and Business Models; Integration of Technology and Infrastructure; Integration of Processes, Services and Tasks; Strategies after the financial crisis; Sourcing strategies: FM = Make or Buy? – and general outsourcing practices; People(s)/Processes/Places; Policies in FM (Contracts/SLA/MainTools/Services/Regulations); Technology Trends and FM Automation; Standardisation; Workplace trends - How to adopt them to the local world.

30st October 2009: Deadline for abstract submission
30st November 2009: Notification of acceptance
18th December 2009: Full paper for revision
15th January 2010: Referees comments
5th March 2010: Final paper

An abstract should be submitted in electronic form only using the forms offered on the EFMC web page (http://( All abstracts and later all final papers must be written
in English. The abstract should be as informative as possible.Abstracts will be reviewed and approved for full presentation by the Programme Advisory Group.
When an abstract has been accepted, instructions regarding the preparation and format of the final paper will be issued. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings (as handouts or electronically or as download). Selected papers may be subsequently published, along with a critical review of the proceedings, in book form.
Submissions will only be accepted on the basis that the author will attend the conference to present and discuss its paper, and give permission for the publication of the paper.
Accepted Speakers will receive free registration to the conference (excl. gala dinner/no fees will be paid). Travel and accommodation will be at speakers´ expense.
