FM recruitment consultancy restructured

28 October 2009

FRL (Facilities Recruitment), suppliers of recruitment services to the FM sector, has secured its long-term future following completion of a pre-pack adminstration and restructuring process

FRL has been operating under a CVA (company voluntary arrangement) for over a year in an attempt to trade out of cash crisis brought on by a problem with one particular client contract. With the recession making this trade-out increasingly difficult, the business has now completed a pre-pack administration, with the result that Facilities Recruitment Limited has ceased as a trading business and has been replaced by FRL Recruitment. The jobs of the vast majority of its 21 employees and large pool of contract temporary workers are now secured. The new company is led by John Davis, a past president of the Institute of Employment Consultants, as its Chief Executive Officer, and Deborah Longstaff as Recruitment Director. In addition, it has recently recruited Fay Frostick, who was formerly Financial Services Manager of the British Institute of Facilities Management, as Finance Director.
John Davis, who was previously with Facilities Recruitment Limited, said:- “FRL had a strong client base, loyal staff, and a steady revenue stream. Indeed, we have recently been granted Preferred Supplier status by a number of major buyers of Facilities Services. However, the Company was saddled with a high level of debt following a contract problem a couple of years ago, and the current tough trading conditions meant that it was facing collapse. This would have meant the loss of jobs, difficulties with paying our pool of temporary staff, and serious inconvenience for our existing clients. The pre-pack, and the re-financing that has enabled it to be put into effect, has put the business onto a much firmer financial footing, securing jobs and
enabling FRL to build on its high reputation in the Facilities Management field”.
