It follows that any type of chair purchased by the NHS is testimony to its quality and design, and a notable example is the recent Form Seating Core operator choice for Nottingham City PCT.

As one of the largest Primary Care Trusts in the country, Nottingham City administers the needs and approved suppliers system for over 80 GP practices alone - plus dentists, hospitals, nurses and pharmacies - for a population of 325000. Much of the facilities management function is in the hands of specialist contractor Integral, and their resident manager Nigel Woollen needed to replace 100 aging and somewhat worn chairs throughout the office and meeting room areas. A careful assessment process embracing major seating companies was duly carried out, and the Form Seating brand from Status and Form Seating Ltd was chosen via Emma Cross at the specialist public sector dealership Emergent Crown Contracts. As Nigel observes "It was crucial to meet criteria of staff health and safety as well as value for money, and the Form option has literally delivered on all counts, especially as the higher back and wider frame makes it more comfortable and versatile across all departments and functions, with uniform praise from our people. It is really a very attractive proposition both visually as well as ergonomically"

For the record, the Form Seating Core operator 191/1 model is tested to BS5459 for office furniture performance requirements which allows for weight up to 150kg. It is finished in a smart bright blue Camira fabric, and features full integrated adjustability for back height and defined back lumber support, with operational pictograms on the heavy duty mechanism handles.
