Interserve wins £1.35m cleaning contract

11 September 2009

Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, has expanded its commercial portfolio by winning a cleaning contract worth £1.35 million over three years with Colworth Science Park in conjunction with Goodman Property Services.

Under the three-year, £450,000 per annum contract, Interserve will deliver daily cleaning services, including waste management, washroom services and window cleaning. Colworth employs over 700 scientists, technologists and legal professionals in buildings specifically designed for scientific excellence in food technology, product safety and environmental impact.

Tony Sanders, Managing Director – Commercial at Interserve said: “We are delighted to be working with Goodman to deliver high quality support services to such impressive buildings. This contract serves testament to the skills and hard work of our staff.”

Interserve is committed to providing sustainable facilities services, through its RENEWABLES framework. These clients will benefit from the use of eco-friendly, enzyme-based cleaning products and energy efficient washroom solutions to reduce both their carbon footprint and drive cost efficiencies throughout their portfolios.

In an ongoing commitment to staff training and development, and as one of the first facilities companies to sign the Skills Pledge, Interserve has recently developed a Cleaning Apprenticeship in partnership with Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council for facilities management.
