FMs to link up as World FM Day is celebrated around the world

The first World FM Day on Friday 28th August is being celebrated by members of the Global FM community on five continents from breakfast to supper and events include twittering and football as well as food, drink and speaker presentations.

UK: BIFM Breakfast hosted by BIFM London Region at Google HQ in London.  Featuring FM World Day video;  History of FM in 5 Minutes by Lionel Prodgers; Work Culture and Workplaces around the world by Philip Tidd of DEGW; Video link with other events around the world.
Australia: Lunches  arranged by FMA Autralia in Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and South Australia.
Hungary: Press breakfast in Budapest announcing the first public draft of the government strategy for the advancement of the Hungarian FM industry 2009-13.  Video conference with BIFM.
France: Reception hosted by ARSEG in Paris for up to 100 people announcing the formation of the Arseg International Committee, the GFM Awards of Excellence in FM and explaining a new Facebook initiative.
Brazil: Happy hour of ABRAFAC members and presenation of lifetime achievement awards to founding fathers of the FM movement and community in Brazil.
Hong Kong:  Hong Kong FM Movers and shakers evening, advertisement in local press giving information on FM supported by 20 local companies and educational organisations.
USA: TweetWorldFMDay event - IFMA members invited to log into IFMA's Twitter site to share aspects of FM in countries around the world and discuss global FM topics.
Switzerland:  Soccer tournment organised at Erlenparck, Dielsdorf from 1pm-6pm in partnership with Resopartners to bring Swiss FM together to do something completely different from work.
South Africa:  Lunchtime functions in Cape Town and Johannesburg with guest speakers and FM video
